Hotels Near Michigan Stadium: The Closest Place to Stay
Here is the fact nobody tells you: there are no hotels next to Michigan Stadium. The Big House sits in a residential neighborhood, and the nearest conventional hotels are about 1.2 miles away, a 25 minute walk. Most "near the stadium" hotels are actually out by the highway, 25 minutes away by car on a normal day and over an hour in game-day traffic.
Stadium Suites is the exception. We are at 830 Henry Street, roughly half a mile from the stadium gates. You walk to your seat in about 10 minutes, and you walk home after. No shuttle, no parking lot, no surge-priced rides.
The distance reality on game day
On a home football Saturday, police reroute traffic around the stadium for hours before and after kickoff. A hotel two miles out means a long shuttle line or a $40 to $100 event parking lot plus a slow crawl in.
